Thinking about it, I struggled slightly to stand up again. The pain was intense, but I stood strong anyway. I brushed myself off, and stood ready to fight again. This creature wasn't going to leave...NOT without me getting in a few good shots!
The shadowed figure took a step forward, and that was all the incentive I needed. Ignoring the pain and the fatigue, I sprung into the air and landed a harsh kick into the creatures chest. Payback to see how it feels! And then I went into a frenzy, striking with a newfound energy, finally able to land a shot here and there, despite his manuevering. The fight raged on, and I soon became aware of something as I was reeling back from one of the creature's powerful kicks to my stomach. Whenever I was connecting a punch or kick, and saw that I had an opening, I kept pounding away at him. Hoping to get enough of an advantage to win. But when he was hitting ME, there was a pause. As though he was waiting for me to attack again. As though he was waiting for me to come back at him with something new. It made me remember a wise piece of information I had picked up a while ago.
