It's TRUE! Something wasn't natural about his hesitation. And it was then that I realized that whatever this thing was, it wasn't trying to kill me...it was just 'testing' me. And if that was the case, then this thing was about to get the show of a lifetime!
I spun around, landing a powerful kick to the creature's shoulder, and then began spinning low to attack its legs. He was able to defend itself for a moment or two, but soon, I was able to sweep him off his feet, and down to the ground where I pounced on him. My hands found the shadow's throat, and I squeezed as hard as I could. "GIVE UP???" I shouted. It didn't answer. I got ANGRY and squeezed even harder to show the son of a bitch that I meant business! "I swear to GOD, I will break your fucking NECK if you don't answer me!!!!"
But the shadow simply grabbed my hand, and used its strength to easily pull my hands away. I tried sooo hard to fight it, to match its strength, but it was no use, he was MUCH stronger than I was. "Still using your hostility as a weapon, I see. Is that all you have to fight with? The leftover rage from a life gone wrong? This is why a teenage boy, a newblood, will NEVER have what it takes to understand what it means to fight intelligently. You're all anger and no skill, just like all the others like you, boy." He whispered. And before I could answer, he pushed me off of him, and rolled to his feet again. He began to move so fast that I could barely see anything more than a few blurred hand movements and kicks. My determination and anger wasn't enough. He knew how to read my every impulse, my every move was predicted three moves ahead already. How am I supposed to fight against something that knows me so well?
Quote #5: "Don't let anyone elses prejudices force you into believing that you're any less of a person than they are. They're only going on their limited experiences with other readers. You don't have to fall into any pattern of behavior simply because they say you do."
