Of course! Whatever this thing is, it's using a great deal of its energy to swirl these shadows around himself to protect his identity! So he can't afford to be seen any more than I can! The more attention I draw to us, the more distracted he'll be!

I kicked wildly, and brought my arm down into the bend of his elbow to get him to drop me, then I flipped backwards near the window. I turned my back to the people watching to keep my face hidden, and looked on as the shadowed creature got into a fighting stance again. But I wasn't falling for it. Ifhe wanted to continue this fight, he was going to have to come to ME! And that meant getting closer to all these witnesses out here!

I watched as the shadow stood his ground, and then straightened up as it realized what I was doing. It's weird, but it was almost as if I could see him smiling. Like he was...I dunno...PROUD of me or something. Just then, I heard a rush of sirens show up behind me as the police arrived! The shadow looked over my shoulder, and in a flash, the shadows split into a fine mist, and he was gone! I, unfortunately, wasn't going to be able to get away that easy. So I ran through the store, and charged my way out of the back door. I ran down the alley until I was sure that I was ut of harms way, and that's when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I spun around quickly and only saw a flash of the shadowed figure before he disappeared again..this time, gone for good. I looked down in my hand, and saw a piece of paper in my palm...on it...a familiar symbol.
