The "C" Symbol What is it?
The symbol is simply the letter "C" drawn on the back of the hand you masturbate with. (And don't say you don't do it! Hehehe!) It can be as big or as small as you want it to be (Ahem...the symbol, that is), and whether you use a plain black marker or jazz it up with colors is completely up to you. The whole point is to have it somewhat visible. It just shows that you're a Shacker.
Where did it come from?
It was a spur of the moment thing that happened one evening while reading the Shack, actually. It was after a few days of everyone being so down and depressed and angry and hurt...it was as if this giant rain storm had covered the whole world at once. Anyway, I made a post on the board one evening and figured that we were all going to cheer up whether our lives were picture perfect or not. That's where the "C" came from. It was a mark to wear when you went out, and if you saw another one, you knew you weren't alone. You knew you had some support out there in the world, and that we were a family.
Beyond that, were the endless possibilities of seeing symbols wherever you went. Questioning about whether you might see it on a best friend, on a family member, a teacher, a stranger, someone you had a crush on, someone you work with, who knows? What if? Imagine seeing one on someone you never thought you had a chance with...you never know. So, after that night, we all pretty much dedicated ourselves to wearing the symbol outside and seeing what we could find. Seven were spotted that week. Mostly in the Midwest and West of the the United States.
When should I wear it?
Well the only real 'holidays' that we have for it is the week following Valentine's Day (From the 14th to the 21st) and the week of the Shack Out Back's anniversary (June 19th to the 26th). But, really, you could wear it anytime if you wanted to. Whenever you're going out, or at a party, or just have a feeling that someone you know might recognize it. You never know when you're going to spot one yourself, or when someone else will spot yours. So it's really up to you when you want to put it on.
What do I do if someone asks me what it means?
If anyone has to ask you what it means, then they're not in on the secret. So 'silence is golden', hehehe. You can make up anything you want to, but the only people who need to know about it are the ones who would be wearing the symbol themselves.
So that's about it, really. No giant conspiracy or magical occurrences. There's a few 'Shack Holiday' celebrations, but you can put it on anytime you get the urge. And hey, like I said, you never know who ELSE might be wearing one too. It's simply a silent way of saying that you're a part of the family here, and that you know you're never alone.
