Physically, I had everything I needed to fight back, but the fact was that my mind wasn't going to be able to match his when it came to combat. I wasn't a fighter, and my mind didn't really KNOW how to plan and strategically fight a bigger opponent. So...it looks like I'll have to rely on my instincts to handle this one. I simply let my mind go, and let my body do the work for me. The strange thing was, it was actually beginning to WORK!

My arms and legs loosened up, and the lack of tension in my punches and kicks made them faster somehow. My motions became more fluid all on their own, and I was able to fight harder without really 'fighting' at all. The shadow figured out what I was doing, and began to increase the speed and power of his attack. I guess that I let my doubt get to me for a second, because once a tiny gap slipped in my concentration, he delivered a BRUTAL kick to my chest, that sent me flying backwards through a dozen garbage cans! I was covered in trash, and my chest hurt so badly that I couldn't even move without it aching me. I laid there in the garbage, my chest burning, my lungs about to burst from breathing so hard, my arms and legs sore from battling it out with this thing. And I figured that there was no beating this thing. It was killing me with the strength of his attack, and I doubted that I'd be able to take much more of this. Then...I thought back...

Quote #3: "You're alive. You should be proud of that, not regretful. Life isn't about how much pain you've suffered, it's about how you get past it, and how you overcome it in the end."
